Chains create incentive pools on Lava, paying LAVA stakers and data providers to give fast, reliable service. Payments are in the tokens of the different chains, with $1m+ in various tokens such as NEAR, STRK already live. Lava supports 3m+ monthly users and data infrastructure for 40+ chains, with new chains and pools added monthly.

‍LAVA token is used to power the protocol in various ways, including staking and restaking.

Staking and restaking LAVA helps provide fast, reliable and secure RPC for every chain:

• Chains create an incentive pool on Lava, with any token e.g. NEAR token.
  ‍
• RPC providers register on Lava blockchain and stake LAVA.
  ‍
• RPC providers are selected to serve requests, with size of LAVA stake being an influencing factor.
  ‍
• LAVA holders stake to Lava Validators and restake to Providers on Lava.
  
  
• LAVA restakers boost top Providers by increasing their stake. Providers with more delegations serve more requests, therefore improving overall network performance.

• Users get responses from the fastest, most reliable RPC providers.

Bundled Restaking Rewards refer to the bundles of tokens a Provider and a Restaker will receive every month for their contributions.

For example, a LAVA token holder, after helping secure the network by staking to a Validator, might choose to restake to a Provider and boost him in the selection process. If the Provider earns rewards from 5 different incentive pools, the Restaker will receive 5 different tokens at the end of the month.
