How does Lava work?

Lava is a modular network making it easy for blockchains and rollups to bootstrap reliable RPC infrastructure.

Blockchains like Secret Network add the specifications for services to Lava. Node operators join to meet demand and serve RPC requests according to the specification. This creates a scalable and decentralized network of RPC providers to which users and developers can make requests. Lava aggregates the providers into a single endpoint.

• RPC providers join Lava to reach more developers, help scale the blockchain they are running nodes for and stress-test Lava Testnet
• Developers and users get a single endpoint and RPC requests are routed to the fastest, most reliable and accurate providers

Lava Testnet now supports the Secret Network RPC specification and node operators can join to start serving RPC.

Onboarding Steps‍

1. To become and RPC provider on Lava, you must stake testnet tokens. Fill the Onboarding Form which allows us to know where to send the tokens

2. Set up a Provider on Lava by following our Secret Network guide in docs

4. Finish provider set up (this requires getting testnet tokens, which the team aims to send up to 48 hours after providers complete the form above)

5. Share a tweet about joining Lava Network as a node operator for Secret Network and submit in contribution channel on Discord

Get paid through Incentivized Public RPC

Lava works with blockchains and rollups to make their public RPC unified, faster, more resilient. Sometimes, chains will create Incentivized RPC Pools with rewards such as their native token. $100k+ has already been distributed to node providers, around hundreds of thousands of tokens by NEAR, Evmos and Axelar.
