Lava Network is an infrastructure protocol which connects users to blockchains, so they can carry out all basic onchain actions.
2.5m+ users today use Lava Network to interact with 30+ blockchains. The LAVA token powers the network and has several use cases.
Before today, LAVA was available on Uniswap Arbitrum. But Lava is a Cosmos chain and we aim to ensure that users from all ecosystems can also participate in the Lava Network. As of today, the token is now available on Base, BNB chain and Cosmos Hub via PancakeSwap and Osmosis.
Always verify that you are interacting with the correct smart contract and LAVA token.
There are many fake tokens already claiming to be LAVA.
Note: while Lava is a Cosmos appchain, and the LAVA token follows the Cosmos standard, when bridged to EVM networks like Base, Arbitrum or BNB Chain, you will need to interact with the LAVA ERC-20 version.

Fake LAVA tokens:
For example, the following are all fake tokens on Uniswap and will appear on any DeFi app. You can see the token addresses under the token name are incorrect, although some scams are sophisticated and use contract addresses similar to the real LAVA address.
Some routers like Squid Router will only show the correct token address in the UI. Other dapps like Uniswap will not do as much filtering, so you must be extra careful to select the real LAVA token.

When you use a dapp or a wallet, you must first connect to the chain you want to interact with. Basic interactions such as minting, swapping, staking and deploying smart contracts are all requests written in RPC (Remote Procedure Call) format. These requests are sent to an RPC Provider who queries the latest state of whichever blockchain the use is trying to interact with, and returns a response.

LAVA delegators stake and restake the token to Providers, boosting top Providers and making the onchain experience faster and more reliable for everyone.
That means an onchain experience which is does not suck. For their contribution, Delegators are rewarded in LAVA and in tokens from blockchains using Lava.
